Home is a place where we feel relaxed, comfortable and connected to our community. We know how important that can be to overall health and happiness, which is why we will help you remain in your home as long as it’s safe and practical. Therefore, we accept and work closely with:
The essence of our vision is that quality care begins in the home. Our caregivers focus on keeping patients happy, healthy and safe in their homes. This reduces the need for acute care and defers admission to long-term care facilities – without jeopardizing overall health outcomes. Addus’ Dual Advantage program is designed as an early-detection system of health issues.
Our homecare aides are uniquely positioned to identify changes in a customer’s condition and notify healthcare case managers so that an action plan can be implemented. This early intervention often averts the need for longer, more costly acute care. This is how our attentive in-home care, combined with medical services when appropriate, lowers costs for Dual Eligible and Medicaid populations while also improving their quality of life. That is the Addus Dual Advantage.
Addus accepts reimbursement from a large group of payers. These include Medicaid programs, Veterans Benefits, other government programs and Long-Term Care Insurance. We also accept Private Pay.Pay Online
Patient responsibility invoices are sent out either monthly or bimonthly depending on the program. We will inform you at the time of service how often you should expect to receive a bill.
The deposit is held as a credit until you have completed services with Addus. Upon completion of services, we will apply the balance to your final bill and refund the difference.
We are contracted with a number of insurance companies and state agencies and can check coverage for you prior to starting care. Please contact our centralized customer service center at 888.233.8746 and we will be happy to help you determine your level of coverage.
Contact our centralized reimbursement number at 877-244-5411 and we will be happy to help you.
Our goal is to provide you with peace of mind and simplify the process. We have reimbursement specialists who can handle the paperwork, verify that you qualify, contact your payor to determine level of coverage and then bill appropriately and directly on your behalf.
Medicare Advantage plans can cover a range of in-home care services. These services may be limited or require prior-authorization. Please contact your Medicare Advantage plan to find out if they offer home care as a benefit.
The Veterans Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit, provided by the Veterans Administration, offers benefits for veterans and surviving spouses who require assistance with activities of daily living. Addus can work with you to determine eligibility of these pension benefits.
Long-Term Care Insurance pays for the treatment of ailing individuals who need medical care over an extended period. It can help you cover the cost of in-home assistance, adult day care, assisted living services or nursing home care. LTC can also protect your family’s financial future, as well as your investments and savings. An LTC policy is a separate health insurance policy that requires monthly premiums, and policies and benefits can vary by payer. To ensure your insurance covers in-home care, please contact us so that we may verify coverage limitations.
Addus works with clients and their families to provide home care services on a Private Pay, or self-pay, basis. Sometimes, Private Pay becomes necessary for services that are not covered by insurances, a third party payer source or Medicaid. Private Pay services can be customized to meet your family’s needs.
Medicare does not cover personal care assistance.
Private insurance may include health insurance purchased by an individual or purchased through an Employer. Traditional Private Insurance does not cover personal care services. Please consult you Private insurance benefits administrator to determine service coverage.
Workers Compensation often covers long term personal care and nursing services authorized by a physician as a result of an approved injury claim. To ensure your insurance covers the services authorized, please contact us so that we may verify coverage limitations.
